Since 2006, Reconciliation Action Plans (RAPs) have enabled organisations to sustainably and strategically take meaningful action to advance reconciliation in Australia.
Our Holy Cross Reconciliation Action Plan, or RAP is a formal commitment to reconciliation. It documents how we will strengthen relationships, respect and opportunities in the classroom and school and with the community. We used the Reconciliation Australia Narragunnawali platform to create, implement and track it. We hope that the document and more specifically the vision, goals and deliverables become a lived reality. Our RAP will be reviewed annually and published each September.
From a Catholic perspective, God wants to enter into a relationship of love with everyone. This is offered in His Son, Jesus, lifted up on the Cross. We take action in love and in the spirit of connection and relationship through our Reconciliation Action Plan. We celebrate First Nations peoples, who continue to enrich our Catholic Story on our reconciliation journey.

Created by Year 6 students in 2021, assisted by teacher Renee Stanton and facilitated by Antoinette Cole, Education Officer, Catholic Education Diocese of Cairns. The group spent time unpacking what was unique about Holy Cross School, the story of the school houses: Dillon, Mallon, Robinson, and Petersen; and how our Charism is linked to all that we do. They chose to incorporate some of the elements of our house designs as they told the story of the land
The mountains and the waterways represent stewardship and care for the land and water. The footprints of Bundarra the cassowary remind us of the importance of looking after this place. Footprints in and around the fire show our community, with the eagle soaring high in the sky.
